They are fed on a diet of crickets, worms, and other farm-raised insects. These scorpions have been processed by flash freezing, cleaning, boiling, and then machine dehydrated for several hours. This process makes them extremely fragile so they make a break during transit. This however will not affect the quality, taste, or enjoyment of eating them.
